Description:
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Software Engineer to join our growing VServer Products team.
This position will be responsible for identifying and resolving performance limitation on the Venturi
Optimization platform. Expertise with high performance software design and methodology will be critical in this role.
Deep understanding of networking and HTTP is a must
Responsibilities:

Improve performance and scalability of the VServer platform
|
|
|
Analyze and report inefficiencies in the code
|
|
|
Drive performance and scalability related initiatives
|
|
|
Execute performance and scalability load test
|
|
|
Follow relevant technology trends, standards, and industry direction
|
|
|
Work closely with QA to troubleshoot and resolve performance and scalability issues
|
|
|
Identifying key metrics that define capacity
|
|
|
Providing regular reports on the performance characteristics of the systems
|
|
|
Maintaining and improving performance testbed
|
Qualifications:
|
10+ years experience with C
|
|
Excellent knowledge of web servers and HTTP protocol
|
|
Good understanding of networking, including routers, switches, firewalls, iptables, etc.
|
|
Good understanding of standard internet protocols (HTTP, FTP, RTSP/RTP, Multipart and SMTP/POP3/IMAP)
|
|
Good understanding of the TCP stack on Linux
|
|
Excellent knowledge of Linux OS(kernel, networking, std utils)
|
|
Experience configuring, running, and analyzing oprofile results
|
|
Experience configuring, running, and analyzing gprof results
|
|
Strong troubleshooting/debugging skills
|
|
Previous software engineering experience with high performance server software
|
|
Attention to detail
|
Education Requirements:
BSCS/EE required, MSCS/EE preferred
